Everything...

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get

only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything."

5 things I adore...

I adore...

...hugging and kissing my boyfriend (that's you J ;-))

...the smell of freshly mowed grass

...being exhausted after swimming

...looking at my dog when he's asleep

...falling asleep on the beach (at the Polish seaside) when I lie down on the hot sand...

...I also adore the fact that the 5 things could be successfully combined.

Szymborska

"Cat in an empty apartment"

(Wisława Szymborska, 1993)

Die - you can't do that to a cat.
Since what can a cat do
in an empty apartment?
Climb the walls?
Rub up against the furniture?
Nothing seems different here,
but nothing is the same.
Nothing has been moved,
but there's more space.
And at nighttime no lamps are lit.

Footsteps on the staircase,
but they're new ones.
The hand that puts fish on the saucer
has changed, too.

Something doesn't start,
at its usual time.
Something doesn't happen
as it should.
Someone was always, always here,
then suddenly disappeared
and stubbornly stays disappeared.

Every closet has been examined.
Every shelf has been explored.
Excavations under the carpet turned up nothing.
A commandment was even broken,
papers scattered everywhere.
What remains to be done.
Just sleep and wait.

Just wait till he turns up,
just let him show his face.
Will he ever get a lesson
on what not to do to a cat.
Sidle toward him
as if unwilling
and ever so slow
on visibly offended paws,
and no leaps or squeals at least to start.

This is the story of a tiny doggy...

Recently I've realized that I've been writing about films, jokes, etc; but not a single word about a very important part of my life, i.e. my dog. So, I've decided to change that. I want to tell you about my dog-Aksel a.k.a. Stasiu (yes, I know you are all sick & tired of hearing about him and me constantly talking about him ). Well, tough luck, 'cause you're going to hear about him AGAIN :P

I got him when I was in high school; finally, after zillions of prayers I got a dog, so you can just imagine how thrilled I was. I'm not saying he wasn't (and still isn't) a huge responsibility and that there were no problems, but I will never regret my decision about buying him (it's terrible that we actually BUY our friends, isn't it :P). Well, never mind that. What matters, is that my dream finally came true. I have to admit, I was pretty tired after a week, but all this was worth the effort, as he is a great, loving, intelligent and faithful friend.

Ohhh..., the stories I could tell you about him... Once when I took him for a walk (he was still a puppy,2-3 months old) a woman stopped and asked "Excuse me, is that a German shepherd?". I was flabbergasted when I heard that question; not that I have anything against German shepherds, but the idea of such a big dog in a not - so - big appartment was rather disturbing. Luckily, Stasiu has nothing (except for the ears, tail and color) to do with Alsatian shepherds. I could talk for hours (or maybe even DAYS) about him, but I don't want you to fall asleep there or worse- hire a hitman to do away with me :)

There is only one more thing I would like to say, i.e. why I love my dog so much; here's the list: because he always greets me when I come home, because he can make funny faces and smile (seriously, I'm not kiddin'), because he sleeps in all the possible places and positions, because of his ridiculously big bat-like ears, because he tries to "speak", because he makes me laugh, because he doesn't pretend to love my family and me, ...

My movie...my awesome movie... :-D

A list (though not complete, and constantly changing and developing) of my favourite (so far) movies.

  • "Miś"
  • "Awakenings"
  • "Crash"
  • "U Pana Boga za piecem"
  • "The Green Mile"
  • "Sin City"
  • "Philadelphia"
  • "Chocolat"
  • "Amelie"
  • "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
  • "The Mission"
  • "The Lord Of the Rings"
  • "Testosteron"
  • "The Simpsons"
  • "Jak rozpętałem II Wojnę Światową"
  • "Nie lubię poniedziałku"
  • "Eric the Viking"
  • "Life is Beautiful"
  • "Poszukiwany poszukiwana"
Why is "Miś"" my number one? Because of the absurdity of all those situations and gags, because of the incredible sense of humor with which it was done, because of the characters, so real, comic and colourful, etc. And besides, I think it is impossible not to LOVE this movie.

Oh and one more thing people:

"Parówkowym skrytożercom mówimy NIE!!!" :-P :-D

Gustav Klimt

What can I say? One of my favourite painters. Why bother talking about his works...let's just admire them...

"I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me -as an artist, the only notable thing- ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do."
